About Dr. Rhonda Moore Johnson

Former Senior Medical Director, Medical Management and Quality at Highmark Health

Recently retired from Highmark Health, Dr. Johnson provided clinical support for many Highmark clinical programs and led the company’s efforts to reduce racial and ethnic health care disparities until 2016.

Dr. Johnson has been botha clinician and physician administrator. Over the course of her career, she has practiced pediatrics and adolescent medicine in rural and inner-city areas of southwest Georgia and Cincinnati, Ohio. For the past six years, she has also led and participated in global missions to Mexico, Haiti, Brazil and Kenya. She is now serving in the capacity of Community Education Consultant for the Allegheny County Health Department under the leadership of Dr. Debra Bogen, Director.

She is certified in health care quality management by the American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review Physicians, Inc., is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a Certified Healthcare Insurance Executive by the American Health Insurance Plans. She is a recipient of numerous awards and recognition, including the 2016 YWCA Racial Justice Award. Dr. Johnson earned an A.B. degree from Harvard University, M.D. at the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine and M.P.H. from Ohio State University.
